Special Applications
We can produce special cold-drawn tubes with restricted dimensional tolerances, higher surface quality and customized sizes in a wide range of diameters, wall thicknesses and lengths for use by the food and beverage industry, in medical applications such as breathing apparatus, and in scuba diving cylinders.
Furthermore, the cold-drawing process means that lightweight tubes can be produced for use as liners in hoop-wrapped (type II) or full-wrapped (type III) cylinders.
Steel Grades and Dimensional Range
For this application, our seamless cold-drawn chrome-molybdenum (e.g., 34CrMo4, SAE 4130X, etc.) steel tubes are supplied in stress-elieved or normalized conditions, in a wide range of sizes with a range of outer diameters up to 280 mm.
They are characterized by high steel cleanliness, restricted chemical composition bands, tight dimensional tolerances and controlled surface quality, in order to ensure the best performance as part of our customers' manufacturing processes.
