Materials able to withstand high pressure gases
Thanks to our rolling mills for large-diameter tubes, we are able to produce high-quality seamless steel tubes suitable for manufacturing jumbo cylinders in compliance with the most important international standards.
When a gas network is unavailable on site and large quantities of Compressed Natural Gas, Hydrogen or Helium are needed, jumbo cylinders offer one of the solutions most commonly adopted for storage and transportation. With volume capacities of as much as a thousand liters and the possibility of assembly on truck trailers, jumbo cylinders mean gases can be transported at pressures of 200 bars and more. They can also be installed as fixed equipment in factories, plants and fuelling stations.

Steel Grades and Dimensional Range
For this application our seamless chrome-molybdenum (e.g., 34CrMo4, SAE 4130X, SAE4145, etc.) steel tubes are supplied in hot-rolled and normalized conditions, in a wide range of sizes with outer diameters ranging from 406 mm to 610 mm. They are characterized by high steel cleanliness, restricted chemical composition band, tight dimensional tolerances and controlled surface quality, in order to ensure the best performance as pàrt of our customers' manufacturing processes.
